Cecil E. Allgood, 76, of 523 N. Fourth St., Oskaloosa, died at his home Tuesday afternoon, April 5. 

He was born June 30, 1906, at What Cheer, the son of Manney E. and Nina Dela Reynolds Allgood.

He married Pansy M. Smith November 14, 1925 in Ottumwa.

He was a former employee of the Oskaloosa Municipal Water Department and was later employed by H.G. Brown Plumbing and Heating where he retired in 1969 after 30 years of employment.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Louise Newell of Newton and Mary Lou Fielder of Oskaloosa; two sons, Cecil Dale Allgood of Centerville and Ernie Lee Allgood of Beacon; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura Gravitt of Oskaloosa; and two brothers, Ernie E. Allgood of Seal Beach, Calif., and Dwight Allgood of Lewiston, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Orville Allgood.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m., at the Garland Van-Arkel Funeral Chapel with Rev. Forrest Schuck of the Beacon United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial was at Forest Cemetery.
