Mrs. John H. (Anna) Reber, age 80, of Sigourney died Tuesday afternoon, May 14 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City where she had been a patient several days.

She was born July 30, 1893, to Daniel and Rachel Kauffman Beer. She married John Reber at Kalona December 28, 1919. They farmed in the Wellman and What Cheer communities. He died in 1952. She was a member of the Liberty Mennonite Church of rural South English. She had been a resident of Pleasantview Nursing Home at Kalona since December 1973.

Survivors include three sons, Howard D. of What Cheer, Leroy of Wellman, and John J. of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Edward A. (Maxine) Peiffer of Keota, Anna Mae and Mrs. Cloyd (Mabel) Fisher Jr. of Sigourney; 20 grandchildren; one great grandchild and one brother, Noah Beer of Lakeland, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Catherine.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite church north of Wellman with the Rev. Dean Schwartzendruber officiating. Burial will be in Lower Deer Creek cemetery.
