Death Claims H.H. Rudd of What Cheer

Henry Harrison Rudd, 78, died Saturday at his home in north What Cheer after several months of illness.  Funeral service was held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Baptist church, conducted by Ernest Smith.  Burial was at Mcfarlan cemetery.

Mr. Rudd was born February 5, 1866, at Egremont, Cumberland county England.  He came with his wife and two children to America in September, 1890, and came directly to What Cheer where he has since resided.

He worked in the mine until he was injured at No. 4 mine and was disabled for about two years.  On regaining his health he began the shoe repairing business which he continued until a few years ago when his health failed him.

He was married in 1887 to Eleanor Roberts and to them five children were born, three of whom have preceded him in death.  His wife died August 12, 1935.  He is survived by one son, Robert, of What Cheer, and one daughter, Eleanor, also of What Cheer.
