Andrew Oilar (1796-1854), was a War of 1812 soldier who was held P.O.W. of the British.  He is buried in the Oilar Family Pioneer Cemetery a few miles from Keokuk.

Oilar's claim to fame was that he was a first cousin of Abraham Lincoln.  The mothers of both men were sisters with Hanks being their maiden name.
