Rolina Goodwin of Welman, Dies


Rolina M. "Bunny" Goodwin, 53, of Wellman died Sat., Sept. 5 at Mercy hopsital in Iowa City after a sudden illness.
She was born July 16, 1934, at Palisade, Minn., to Lawrence and Mildred Hahn Bailey. She attended school at Akins, Minn. She was married on May 16, 1951 to Junior W. Goodwin at Brighton. She lived in Iowa since 1949 and lived in Kinross and Wellman communities all of her married life. She worked for Thomas and Betts Corp., in Iowa City for 13 years.


She is survived by her husband Junior of Wellman; two sons, John W. of Lisbon and Michael L. of Hedrick; two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Jody L.) Miller of Sigourney and Mrs. John (Janie D.) Hammes of Keota; nine grandchildren; her mother, Mildred Bailey of Wellman; one brother, Randy Bailey of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her father; four brothers and a grandson.


Funeral services were held Tues., Sept. 8 at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman, the Rev. Grant Lapham officiated. Burial was in Wellman Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Goodwin, Michael Goodwin, Randy Miller, John Hammes, Don Goodwin and Randy Bailey.


A memorial fund has been established to go for playground equipment in the Wellman park.
