Mrs. Ivy Douglas dies in Calif.

Mrs. Ivy Esther Douglas, age 87, widow of John Willis Douglas, died Friday, Oct. 16, in Los Gatos, Calif.  She was born in Rose Hill in 1877, spending her girlhood and early womanhood in What Cheer, Oskaloosa, and vicinity.

For the past 12 years she made her home in San Jose, calif. with a daughter, Mrs. Fay Kenyon.

Her late husband was a roadmaster for the Chicago-Northwestern and Black Hills-Western railroads for 47 years.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Julia Danielson of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Bess Davis of Arcata, Calif., and Mrs. Kenyon of San Jose; two sons, Frank Douglas of Dallas, Texas and Julius Douglas of San Jose; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Davis of Cresco and Mrs. Edna Lennox of Oskaloosa and three brothers, Louis Gilchrist of San Jose, George Gilchrist of Solway, Minn., and Leslie Gilchrist of Keota.

Service and burial was at Los Gatos.
