Charles F. Perry

Former Resident Died June 22nd

Charles F. Perry Dies Suddenly at Kansas City, Missouri

Charles F. Perry, 34 years old, a musician and composer of popular songs, died Saturday afternoon at the General Hospital.  He leaves his widow, Mrs. Lucy Craig Perry; a daughter, Shirley Perry, and two sons, Charles F. Perry, Jr., and Harold Perry, all of the home, 2005 Independence Boulevard, Kansas City.  Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock, Monday June 24th at the Forester Chapel; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Perry will be remembered by What Cheer residents as a son-in-law of Arthur Craig.  During his stay in our community he was prominent in orchestra work.

Charles was popular with his associates, a pleasing personality, kind and loving husband and father and left this life at a time he was realizing his musical ambition and efforts.

He had one of Kansas City's leading orchestras and composed many popular pieces.

Arthur Craig, Sr., Arthur Jr., Mrs. Wm. Tancer and Wm. Ray attended the funeral.
