Mrs. Brunson Dead

Mrs. Margaret Brunson died at her home in Coal Creek, Iowa, Sunday, November 5th, 1905, aged 78 years and 8 days.  Mrs. Brunson was one of the pioneer settlers of that vicinity coming there with her husband and children about the year 1858.  They settled on the farm now occupied by Ike Howard but later removed to Coal Creek and opened a general store and post office and after her husband's death, which occurred 12 years ago, she continued the business until a few years ago when she gave up business life.  She was the mother of five children, three of whom survive to mourn the loss of a kind, loving, Christian parent.  The living are Newt Brunson of this city, Mrs. Edward Craig* and Mrs. Sam McSpadden, both of Coal Creek.  One son drowned in the year 1863 and the other died a few years ago.  Funeral services were held at the residence in Coal Creek Monday, Nov. 6th at 2 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. J.A. Roovart of Thornburg.  The remains were interred in Highland Cemetery.

*Mrs. Edward Craig is Hattie Brunson Craig, wife of Joseph Edgar Craig.
