County Happenings
Brooks
Friday evening, after months of weary suffering, endured patiently, Mrs. Arthur passed quietly away. Though not unexpected, at the last death came swiftly and painlessly to the waiting one, who had often wished "to go and be at rest." She had done a good woman's work, and now "her children shall rise and call her blessed. Her husband also he praiseth her." The funeral services were held at the house Sunday morning, the opening exercises being conducted by Revs. Lovejoy and Peregrine, and the sermon by Rev. Sparks, the M.E. pastor of the Brooks charge. Interment was made in the Brooks cemetery, the remains being followed to their last resting place by a great number of sorrowing friends.
