Retired Keokuk firefighter, John Davis, recently "adopted" the Oilar Cemetery located on Valley Road five miles west of Keokuk. The cemetery has four burials, including Andrew Oilar and three of his infant children. Oilar, first cousin to Abraham Lincoln and a War of 1812 soldier captured by the British, died in 1854 at the age of 58.
