From Preserving Our Past, Number 11, Fall issue 2006, the newsletter of the Lee County Pioneer Cemetery Association (LCPCA), page 5: "Spotlight on Blacksmith Cemetery," Franklin Township, Section 11.  This cemetery, located about 3/4 of a mile back in a field owned by Kenneth Juhl, was the site of the Pioneer Families Day event held on June 24.  Terry Altheide, Susan Alarie, and other members of the Lee County Pioneer Cemetery Association spent many Saturdays cleaning the cemetery and uncovered a previously unknown burial, that of Hattie Helm, who died at the age of 4 years in 1870.
